Already recognised globally as a sophisticated tourism destination, Mauritius also offers a wide range of natural, urban and rural shooting locations and services for international productions and co-productions and in order to promote the development of the film industry in Mauritius. In its endeavor to develop new sectors of activity within the creative arts industry, the Government of Mauritius, through the Economic Development Board has introduced the Film Rebate Scheme. Under this scheme, projects approved by a Film Framework Committee will benefit up to 40% rebate on Qualifying Production Expenditures (QPE) incurred in Mauritius. The scheme covers different categories of films namely feature films, documentaries, TV serials, digital animated films, high end TV commercials, documentaries, among others.
